Graceful Guest Chair

Vico Magistretti’s creation is an elegant chair for use in any environment. Generous in scale, Cirene offers a modern twist on comfort. Both the arm and armless chair stack 10-high for easy storage.

Sophisticated Stacking

The factory-installed, chrome-plated ganging mechanism, stored underneath the seat, is used for auditoriums, training areas or waiting rooms. Cirene’s molded plywood seat shell, in smooth lacquer finish or grained veneer finish that sits on a chrome-plated tubular steel frame.

T arm chair features black polypropylene molded arm pads. Upholstery available in select Trevira textiles and leather colors (leather upholstery cannot be removed or retrofitted). And like all Knoll seating products Cirene is GREENGUARD CERTIFIED certified.

The Classic Cyclone Table

The Cyclone Table from Knoll Studio. Isamu Noguchi’s playful tables were manufactured in 1954 in varying sizes, and later evolved into a table that became a companion piece to the Bertoia wire children’s chair.

Features a signature plate under the table top with the KnollStudio logo and Isamu Noguchi’s signature. Available on the KnollStudio 20 day program in select sizes and finishes.

Face Off Cafe Table

In a Santa Monica workshop established by Knoll in 1989, Frank Gehry began experimenting with a new approach to material and structure. Three years later, Gehry’s groundbreaking collection of laminated maple chairs and tables was previewed at The Museum of Modern Art in New York. Inspired by the woven construction of apple crates he had played on as a child, Gehry began to weave thin strips of wood into lightweight fluid forms. The ribbon-like designs transcend the conventions of style by focusing on the essential challenge of integrating material and structure.

The Face Off cafe table makes a bold statement with a flowing environmental feel.

It is the perfect companion to the Hat Trick Chair featured in an earlier post. Tops come in a choice of two finishes: clear glass or white laminate. The base finish is laminated clear maple to 8-ply thickness.

While in Spain on vacation last week I visited the mind-blowing Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. While having a fantastic lunch in the museum restaurant I was pleased to see they use the Hat Trick Chair from KnollStudio as well as the Jamaica Stool.

Charles Pollock’s 1965 executive chair, now considered one of Knoll’s most memorable designs, features an aluminum rim that supports the chair both structurally and visually.
